Second semester I will be making a schedule for the day on which I will observe you in your classroom. We will then meet after school to discuss my observations. I don’t think I am great at telling you how pleased I am with the school in general, but I think the semester has been going very well. The students are having a great time, they are learning and they are gaining a strong appreciation for their Judaism.
You have a difficult task, which is not under appreciated. You often have to inject Judaism into these students for the 3 hours and 15 minutes a week that you have them and sometimes this is not being reinforced at home. You make Judaism not only exciting, but also applicable and enjoyable to their everyday lives.
Our job is not to say, “time-out for Judaism,” but to say, Judaism is incorporated into every aspect of their lives. Keep up the good work, the creative lesson plans, and the positive energy. Please read the attached article that comes with the dor l’dor. There will be a $5.00 bonus to anyone who writes at least a two-paragraph response, which relates the article to our Temple Beth-El Religious School.

Boy, the saying “Time flies when you are having fun” is really an understatement! ! The first semester has flown by. There has been quite a bit of activity. Chalutzim through Yisrael have spent one day in a family education program. The parent’s feed back has been very positive. Those of you that have not gone will have an opportunity in the Spring for a Family Education Program. Be ready for a real treat.
Those of you that have been video taped this semester MUST return your videotape and your evaluation to Religious School on Sunday. I will be by your rooms to collect these. Only two of you have returned your tape. Jody, Barbie, Miriam, Meir, Karen, Bobi, Sylvia, LaDina, Vicki, Susan, Shauna, and I will come by your rooms first thing Sunday morning to pick up your tapes. Those of you that were not video taped this semester will have the opportunity to be taped in the Spring.
Have a well deserved break and I look forward to seeing you all in the Temple Sunday, 12 January 2003 for an exciting day of fixing “our” classrooms for the students.

All teachers will be at Religious School at the Temple on Sunday January 12th, 2003. This is a mandatory day. We will have a teacher in-service and we will be unpacking boxes and you will be setting up your classrooms. There will be no students on this day, childcare will be provided.
We will be having a 3-5th grade retreat meeting on Sunday, December 15th from 8:00 AM. To 8:45 A.M. All teachers and Ma’aseh involved or desiring to be involved, should attend. Coffee, donuts and bagels will be served at 8:00 A.M.; the meeting will start at 8:10 A.M. Teachers and Ma’aseh must be there if you plan to attend retreat. Our theme and activities will be determined.
