Yesterday was "Holocaust
Day". I personally
don't like to be out that day, I usually go to work early and stay late (I
don’t like to be depressed!!! And it always gets to me).But yesterday, my brother got stuck with his car, so he asked me to come and
help him (to take him home after they'll tow his car...)
Anyway, to get a long story
short: I found myself on the big highway between Rishon
Lezion & Tel Aviv,
exactly at 10:00am, the time that the siren blast was!!! Of course, I stopped
the
car
on the sideway and stand up.
The sight was amazing!!! All the cars on the freeway, some of them right there
in the middle of the road, everyone and everything just stood still, without
moving without making a sound!!!
This was amazing!!!
Everything stopped!!! Nothing moved!! It was kind of like on some kind
of movie!!!
(Reminded me a little of Radiohead’s video) It made me feel so proud to stand
there, to be a Jew, to be in Israel!! Finally, something that we all believe in, without fighting and disagreeing!!!
It was so powerful!!!
I really wish you could see it, feel it.
I wish everyone could see and be there!!!
This was an enormous feeling!!!
No doubt about it, after all, we’re the coolest nation!!!

We are trying to locate 2 boxes, which appear to have gone missing in the move back into the Temple. These boxes contain a large number of 3x5 index cards (the library's shelf list or catalog cards) and several computer discs. We estimate that the boxes are approximately 11x17x 6 and have "Follett" printed on the sides. Please be on the lookout for these.
Thanks,
Judy Garrison
May 18th is Family Day in the Park
May 11th will be our last day at Temple but May 18th will be the last day of Religious School. We will be holding a Potluck Brunch in the Park with games, sports and art activities. Each teacher and ma’aseh will be asked to lead an activity. The activities may range from face painting, to kickball, to story telling, etc. Please let me know what you might be interested in doing.

May 11th is the last day of Religious School at Temple but not the last day of Religious School. Do not have a last day of class party on May 11th. If you would like to play fun review games, do something unique with you kids, watch a video which correlates to your lesson or something to that affect, that would be fine, but do not have them bring in outside food or dedicate class time to listening to music and “partying.” Our last day party will be on May 18th in San Pedro Park.
We need a few things from all teachers before the school ends:
1. Report cards were given out on April 27th, and we are expecting to receive them from you May 11th.
2. Each teacher needs to nominate students for Shomrei Torah (for Judaica) or Talmid Ivrit (for Hebrew studies). Please get these nominations to me by the end of class on May 11th.

From 8:15 to 8:45, any teacher or ma’aseh who chooses to strengthen their Judaic knowledge and community amongst the teachers and ma’aseh may come and join us for learning, conversations and lesson planning. This program is completely on a volunteer basis. It is to strengthen our teaching community and to expand our knowledge of Judaism and ourselves.
On staff meeting days, there will be no Shiur BaBoker.
This Sunday’s Topic: Teaching How to Teach
about God. Bobi Stern will be leading this session.

Progress Reports were handed out to you Sunday, April 27th . Please have them completed by Sunday, May 11th. The goal of the Progress Report is not only to inform the parents of their child’s behavior in class, but also to inform the parents of what is being taught in class and what their child’s specific Judaic interests happen to be. Please be honest, constructive and informative. Nothing should come as a surprise to the Parents. Contact them by phone now if you need to so that the report card is not a surprise. For suggestions on how to phrase your comments please, call me, email me or visit this website. http://www.teachnet.com/how-to/endofyear/personalcomments061400.html
