RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HEALTHY SNACKS
AT TEMPLE BETH-EL RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

In an effort to address the needs of our students to have a mid-morning snack break and to guarantee the health and safety of all our students, our school is now a PEANUT-FREE ZONE.  We are asking that the following snacks be provided for your child’s Religious School classroom:

100% fruit juices (not high-fructose corn syrup drinks)

½ bagel (with or without spreads like cream cheese )

challah

rice cakes or mini rice cakes

fruit or grain muffins

low-salt pretzels

graham or animal crackers

fresh seasonal fruit (pre-washed, please!)

carrots, celery, broccoli, or zucchini strips with low fat dip or salad dressing

fat-free popcorn

low fat string cheese or cubed cheeses

fruit, nut and/or grain trail mixes  - PEANUT FREE!

What we want to avoid are sweet, sugary foods. We would love to offer a snack that contains some form of protein or natural fibers. If you have questions about the snack you would like to provide, please feel free to contact your classroom teacher or the Education Director.
