RECOMMENDATIONS
FOR HEALTHY SNACKS
AT TEMPLE BETH-EL RELIGIOUS SCHOOL
In an effort to address the needs of our students to have a mid-morning
snack break and to guarantee the health and safety of all our students,
our school is now a PEANUT-FREE ZONE. We are asking that the
following snacks be provided for your child’s Religious School
classroom:
100%
fruit juices (not high-fructose corn syrup drinks)
½ bagel (with or without spreads like cream cheese )
challah
rice
cakes or mini rice cakes
fruit
or grain muffins
low-salt
pretzels
graham
or animal crackers
fresh
seasonal fruit (pre-washed, please!)
carrots,
celery, broccoli, or zucchini strips with low fat dip
or salad dressing
fat-free
popcorn
low
fat string cheese or cubed cheeses
fruit,
nut and/or grain trail mixes - PEANUT FREE!
What we want
to avoid are sweet, sugary foods. We would love to offer a
snack that contains some form of protein or natural fibers.
