Jim Rowland became our Temple’s Executive Director, effective February 22, 2005. Jim comes to us with long years of experience in accounting, strategic sourcing, financial and operational reporting, and retail support management. He retired from Valero Energy Corporation, formerly Ultramar Diamond Shamrock, Inc. Most recently, he served as Executive Pastor of his own congregation, River City Community Church.

Jim grew up in Rockford, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1974, and a Certified Internal Auditor in 1980. He worked toward his Master’s degree in Marketing at Fresno State University in California and has a MBA from UTSA.

Jim is married to Cindy and they have five children – Albert, Stephanie, Michelle, Ari, and Stephen. Jim and his family moved to San Antonio in 1995 from Montreal, Quebec.
