Event Details

We have continued to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 concerns in San Antonio and Bexar County. Rabbi Nathan personally spoke with Mayor Nierenberg who recommended that all non-essential gatherings be canceled for the time being. With his suggestion in mind we have decided to cancel classes on the following dates:

(Please note there is already no class on Sunday, 3/15, for Spring Break)

Tuesday, 3/17

Wednesday, 3/18

Sunday, 3/22

While we are disappointed to miss the opportunities that learning together in community provide us, we are confident that these cancellations will help us fulfil the mitzvot of shmirat haguf, caring for our bodies and pikuach nefesh, safeguarding life. Our tradition teaches that pikuach nefesh is the most important mitzvah to observe, taking precedence over the study of Torah.

We are happy to answer any questions and address any concerns you might have. Currently the best way to communicate with the Religious School is via email. I am available at gro.asle-hteb@hael, and Sara Planto is available at gro.asle-hteb@aras.

As we continue to learn about COVID-19 and the city of San Antonio’s response we will remain vigilant and relay Temple’s plans to you. This week-long pause will allow us to better assess the situation in order to plan for the future. We are thankful for your flexibility and partnership as we work together to bring your family the best alternatives possible.
