Event Details

Join Tzedek Thursday for a day of volunteering at the San Antonio Food Bank’s Urban Community Garden. The San Antonio Urban Farm is the largest urban agriculture initiative within the city of San Antonio with a unique mission: they grow food right on their campus, all while empowering clients, school kids, volunteers, and anyone else who wants to learn more about growing food at home with skills they need to do so. This is a 40+ acre working garden, cultivating fresh produce to provide healthy, nutritious fresh foods for distribution. Volunteers work as a group to assist the farmer with planting, harvesting, caring for, and cleaning fruits, vegetables, and other edible plants. Other duties may include composting, weeding, digging, hoeing and watering in the field. At times assistance is needed with landscape and property clean up. There is no age limit to this service project!

Space may be limited for this project so RSVP soon to Ross at gro.asle-hteb@ssor.
