Director of Philanthropy and Member Engagement

Aliyah Kuchinsky

Aliyah (she/her) is a former Dallasite who has called San Antonio home for nearly 20 years. Her work within the Jewish community started at the Dallas Jewish Community Center’s Camp Chai at the age of 14, at which point she became a co-worker of her mother, who had worked for the JCC before Aliyah was born. Life took her to San Antonio where after a year of teaching at the Eleanor Kolitz Hebrew Language Academy, she dedicated 13 years to the Barshop Jewish Community Center leading the Membership, Family Programming and Development initiatives.

From playground days to the Film Festival and everything in between, the consistent highlight was making sure folks felt a little better upon leaving than when they arrived. She most recently served as Director of Membership at Texas Public Radio, recruiting and connecting with a most amazing community of listeners. She’s vowed to never change the dial during a Pledge Drive. Aliyah enjoys running as much as anyone can, having completed 12 half-marathons.

She is a vegetarian who loves cooking, often while binging memoirs and storytelling podcasts. Aliyah has a middle school age daughter who she describes as, “the best person she knows”. She treasures close friends, 90s pop culture, the trails at Eisenhower Park and her three cats. Aliyah looks forward to engaging with and contributing to the Temple Beth-El community.
