Annual Rabbi Samuel Stahl Lectureship

Dr. Rabbi Rachel Mikva

Thursday, October 23, 7:30 pm

What do we do now? We are living in a time of profound upheaval—facing environmental threats, rising hatred, political division, and growing isolation. Recent events, including October 7 and its aftermath, have intensified antisemitism, fractured communities, and challenged our core values. While it may feel easier to retreat inward, Jewish tradition urges us to engage—finding strength in uncertainty and opportunity in challenge—as we navigate an increasingly complex and often hostile world.

Yoga & Meditation with Jewish Spirituality

Sundays | 10-11am for Yoga | 11-11:30am for Meditation

Every Sunday, take a mindful pause with free, online yoga and meditation classes guided by Ami Gordon. Rooted in Jewish Spirituality, these classes offer a calming, soulful way to close your week.

Each class is designed to awaken spiritual presence through breath and body. We’ll ground ourselves, open to deeper mindfulness, and prepare body and mind to receive the gifts of Jewish wisdom. You’re welcome to take part in the full experience—or simply join for yoga or meditation as you prefer. Once a month, this experience moves in person at Temple Beth-El, where we gather as community in practice and reflection. (Sept 21, Oct 19, Nov 16 are the in-person classes at Temple). Classes are open to all levels, including beginners. If you have any questions or concerns, we can provide advance guidance and modifications—including pose adjustments and prop recommendations—to make the practice accessible and comfortable for you. Come move, breathe, and reflect with us—a journey of body, mind, and spirit through Jewish wisdom.

Torah Study

Saturdays | 9:00–10:00am

Join us around the Torah table for a meaningful and thought-provoking study of the weekly Torah portion, led by a member of our clergy. Each session centers on a key question drawn from the parashah, inviting rich discussion and personal reflection. Together, we’ll explore the insights of classical and modern commentators—spanning centuries of Jewish thought—and bring them into conversation with our own contemporary experiences. Whether you’re a seasoned learner or new to Torah study, this welcoming and interactive space offers a chance to connect more deeply with our sacred texts, our tradition, and one another. Come with curiosity and leave with new perspectives.
